The fluid content of MOVICOL, when reconstituted with water, does not replace regular fluid intake; adequate fluid intake must be maintained. Laxative products like MOVICOL can interact with other medications by altering their absorption, so close monitoring may be necessary when starting or stopping MOVICOL. Patients should discuss this with their doctor. If a patient requires thickened fluids for safe swallowing, MOVICOL may counteract the thickening effect.
