Description
Intrasite Gel
Intrasite Gel is an amorphous hydrogel formulated to gently rehydrate necrotic tissue, facilitating autolytic debridement while loosening and absorbing slough and exudate. It also provides an optimal moist wound management environment during the later stages of wound closure. Non-adherent, it does not harm viable tissue or the surrounding skin, making it ideal for every stage of the wound management process.
Features:
- Partially hydrated hydrogel formulation
- Contains propylene glycol
- Applipak container available in a range of sizes
Benefits:
- Moisture Management: Intrasite Gel’s partially hydrated formulation allows it to donate moisture to drier environments and absorb it in wetter ones, creating a moist wound management environment.
- Debriding Action: It rehydrates necrotic tissue and aids in debridement through its gentle yet effective action.
- Desloughing Action: Absorbs slough and exudate without damaging fragile granulation tissue.
- Moist Wound Healing Environment: Increases moisture content at the wound surface, helping prevent eschar formation and supporting the migration of epithelializing cells.
- Gentle Action: Its effective yet gentle formulation leaves delicate granulation tissue undisturbed, reducing trauma.
- Non-Adherent: Easily removed by irrigation with normal saline without damaging fragile tissue or causing unnecessary pain.
- Easy to Use: The unique Applipak system allows for simple, directable, and controlled application, even in awkward wound sites.
- Range of Sizes: Available in various sizes to control and reduce wastage for cost-effective wound management.
Indications:
Intrasite Gel is used to create a moist wound environment for the treatment of minor conditions such as minor burns, superficial lacerations, cuts, abrasions (partial thickness wounds), and skin tears. Under the direction of a healthcare professional, it can also be used for managing:
- Venous ulcers (leg ulcers)
- Surgical incisions
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Pressure ulcers (including stage IV)
Intrasite Gel creates a moist wound environment that assists in autolytic debridement of wounds covered with necrotic tissues.
