Mesalt Dressing

Mesalt Dressing stimulates the debridement of heavily discharging wounds in the inflammatory phase by absorbing exudate, bacteria and necrotic material. This effectively facilitates the wound healing process.

Recommended use – Indicated for the use of moderate to heavily exuding and infected wounds such as pressure ulcers and surgical wounds. A secondary dressing is required, to assist in autolytic debriding.

Frequency of dressing change – Mesalt can stay intact for up to 7 days, depending on the primary dressing goal of care. A secondary product is required to secure the dressing in place and absorb exudate.

Precautions & Contraindications – not to be used on low exuding wounds or anyone with an allergy to sodium or chloride.
